2.22 - Mission Peak Hike

Mission Peak hike is a popular thing to do over the weekends in the Bay Area! Did this for the second time and was more fun and do-able. First time it was more challenging since the tip of the peak is deceiving, every-time you reach the top you are encountered with one more peak to climb ;-).

Photo credits go to a friend (Bhargav.) You will see some great bay area landscapes and bird-views once you are on top and worth the effort :-) !!! Definitely plan for food and water if the hike is after 10 AM since it gets hot / sunny by then. Planning to do a night hike on a full moon day sometime soon!!! Will definitely share pics if I get to take a camera with good night vision.

2.15.2014 Mcway Fall, Carmel & Lover's Point (Monterey)

This was our first valentine's right after the wedding and we definitely wanted to do something over this weekend. We planned for a 1 day short trip to Macway Falls, enroute Carmel & Lover's Point.

The Highway 1 drive was as amazing as ever!!! Must say we were disappointed with the Mcway Falls (Due to the drought conditions in California, the falls didn't have much water) But the whole bay near the falls and the rocks around it made the view stunning. Since we had a hefty breakfast ( Bagels, Strawberry Cheese spread with basil and a cup of coffee) we didn't stop for a break anywhere, however while we were heading back our stomach started grumbling and yelp directed us to Carmel!!! A beautiful bay side uptown place. I bet you would fall in love with it anytime any day!!! The restaurants here are the BEST!!!!! Very  authentic gourmet cuisines. Post lunch we drove to the Lover's Point in Monterey. A top tourist attraction and a recommendation from a colleague. A serene place, sitting on the rocks viewing the majestic clam ocean and shivering in the cold brings a smile to my face even now! That was the last stop for the day and we drove back home on the freeway feeling good :-)
